The Meade County Sheriff’s Office will close one hour earlier than usual on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. The early closure is to allow staff members to attend the funeral service of Jason Brown.

Jason Brown, a resident of Brandenburg, Kentucky, died on February 27, 2026, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville. He was 52 years old. According to his obituary published by Hager Funeral Home, he was born on December 27, 1973, and was the son of Thomas D. Brown and Inna Rose (Dowell) Brown.

The Sheriff’s Office and members of the Meade County community have extended their condolences to the Brown family and others affected by his passing. “Out of respect for Jason and his family, the Sheriff’s Office will close one hour early on the day of the funeral service so that deputies and staff may attend and honor his memory,” according to a statement from the office.
