Meade County Fiscal Court announced on Apr. 20 that it is accepting sealed bids and applications for a part-time Information Technology Consultant position. Interested candidates must submit their bids by 4:00 PM on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.

The role is important for maintaining the county’s technology infrastructure and ensuring continued support across hardware and software environments. The selected consultant will be responsible for a range of duties including installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting of systems, as well as user support and training.

According to the announcement, applicants are expected to have experience with Microsoft Server environments such as Active Directory and Group Policy; maintain Windows operating systems; provide full support for Microsoft Office applications; support Fiscalsoft Financial and Accounting software; manage network devices like printers and scanners; design wired networks; configure wireless networks; administer Sophos antivirus solutions and firewall systems; implement backup solutions using Macrium software; perform hardware diagnostics and repairs; execute software installations and updates across platforms; deliver general IT help desk services with flexible availability including nights or weekends if needed.

The contract will not exceed sixteen hours per week over a one-year term from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. It does not include holiday or vacation pay. The fiscal court reserves the right to reject any or all submitted bids.
