Meade County Fiscal Court announced on Apr. 20 that it is accepting applications for a full-time 911 telecommunicator at Meade County E-911 Communications.

The position offers an hourly wage of $17.44, with lateral hires starting at $18.68 per hour and the possibility of higher pay based on experience. Benefits include vacation, sick, and holiday pay, built-in overtime, health, dental and vision insurance, retirement benefits, and a rotating schedule with every other weekend off.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED equivalent and possess a valid driver’s license. Candidates should have no felony convictions or crimes involving moral turpitude. The job requires the ability to type at least 30 words per minute as well as familiarity with Windows-based computers. Additional skills needed include strong listening abilities and clear communication.
