Meade County Fiscal Court announces opening for full-time animal control officer position

Meade County Fiscal Court announced on April 20 that it is accepting applications for a full-time animal control officer. The deadline to submit applications is Wednesday, April 29, by 4:00 PM.

The role supports county government operations and the animal shelter, oversees volunteers and licenses, handles complex public safety duties, clerical and administrative functions, enforces animal control ordinances, and must qualify for peace officer functions as required by Kentucky Revised Statute (KRS) 61.300.

Applicants must be available to be contacted during any hours to provide professional service if necessary. Requirements include being at least 21 years old, having a high school diploma or GED equivalent, possessing a valid driver’s license, and having no felony, domestic violence or drug convictions. The candidate must also meet qualifications for peace officer status under KRS 61.300.
